How can you make moccasin house slippers waterproof on the inside?

I just got a pair of cheap moccasin house slippers from the store, they’re super comfortable but I don’t think they’ll be very good once they start getting wet. How can I water proof them so when they get wet me socks and feet don’t get wet and cold?

I’m going to assume that these mocs are suede or a suede like material, so that limits your options, but not completley. There’s a product called Mink Oil. It’s a natural cream type of treatment for smooth leather, and it’s wonderfully conditioning to leather and VERY waterproof. I would work Mink Oil into the stitching (though if they’re a light color, you should know that it will darken the leather), and then I’d use a waterproofing spray a day or two later on the rest of the shoes. Those sprays work well, but it’s hard to get them worked into the stitching, which is where they need the waterproofing the most…thus the Mink Oil first. Good luck.
